Choose SoftwareSilo when operations matter
SoftwareSilo is built around the complete Magento-side workflow. It records generation and validation status, supports immediate, queued, hourly, daily, and manual processing, attaches files to emails, exposes customer downloads, and provides REST and CLI operations. Its broadest differentiator in this comparison is PEPPOL BIS Billing file generation.
There are boundaries. The module uses a store-level default format, not automatic recipient-specific selection. It creates PEPPOL BIS UBL but does not provide Peppol network delivery. Credit memo formats are narrower than invoice formats.
Choose GEISSWEB when PDF integration is central
GEISSWEB publishes a broad Magento-native feature set and explicitly discusses several PDF modules. That is valuable when a merchant has invested in a branded or legally reviewed PDF layout. The product is therefore not a lightweight alternative to dismiss. A fair selection should compare real output files from both products and ask each vendor about the exact standard versions, Magento release, PHP version, and update entitlement.
Choose KonVis for a narrow requirement
KonVis has a much lower published entry price and focuses on creating ZUGFeRD XML. A small merchant that needs precisely this output may not benefit from paying for broader formats and operational tooling.
The tradeoff is scope. Clarify hybrid PDF creation, validation depth, corrections, credit memos, automation, APIs, and future standard updates before assuming that a focused generator can cover a larger compliance program.
A useful proof of concept
Give every candidate the same sanitized Magento cases: a standard invoice, mixed VAT, shipping, cart discount, tax exemption, partial refund, and missing buyer reference. Validate the output independently and import it into the recipient's system. The best product is the one your team can operate reliably after the demo is over.
